But think of all of the uses that jam has in the kitchen when it comes to baking…&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Filling a Victoria Sponge, making jam tarts or simply for spreading on home baked bread.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As with everything, it's best when you make it yourself. Now is the perfect time for making jam – all the summer fruits are ready, available and at their best. So simple, just three different things but a perfect match! You can make the meringue still gooey in the centre or cook it till it dries out, top with whipped sweetened cream (perhaps with some vanilla seeds scraped into it) and then cover with halved strawberries.
